IOTE 2021: Eforthink Presents UWB Positioning and AoA Fusion

2025-04-18

Eforthink showcased its positioning hardware and software at the 16th International Internet of Things Exhibition, IOTE 2021. The company’s event report dates the exhibition to October 23–25, 2021, at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.

The exhibition theme, “Connecting Chips, Empowering the World,” focused on the development of connected applications. Eforthink introduced its UWB and Bluetooth Low Energy angle-of-arrival fusion system, with demonstrations for manufacturing, energy and public-sector use cases.

RTLS Technology for Industrial Applications

Location data can connect identified resources with the processes around them. Eforthink’s RTLS technology supports applications in industrial safety, manufacturing, public security and smart-city operations, depending on the deployed hardware and integration.

The company’s published materials describe work involving FAW-Volkswagen, BOE, Baosteel, Ansteel and Zijin Mining. These references illustrate the sectors addressed, where operating environments, work processes and integration requirements differ. Each application connects location information with an operational management purpose.

Application Highlights

  • Underground coal-mine positioning: personnel tracking provides available worker locations within deployed coverage to support operational monitoring and incident response.
  • Chemical facilities: personnel tracking and configured area events can support the review of activity in controlled zones, alongside the site’s established safety systems.

UWB positioning supplies spatial measurements. Correct device associations connect these observations with the relevant personnel or equipment records. Environmental hazard detection and response actions require their corresponding sensors, integrations and procedures.

The Fusion Approach

Industrial customers balance accuracy, deployment cost, power requirements and system adaptability. Eforthink combines UWB positioning and BLE AoA so that different areas can use an appropriate location method within a shared application.

The demonstrated approach emphasized:

  • Flexible installation to suit the area, infrastructure and budget.
  • Data integration to support transitions between configured positioning zones.
  • Position detail selected around the task and deployment cost.

Shared RTLS technology does not imply identical accuracy in every zone. Device support, transition behavior and the coverage plan determine how the system operates.

At the IOTE High-Precision Positioning Forum, Eforthink CEO Yang Weihang presented “Advantages and Applications of UWB & BLE AOA Fusion Positioning.” The presentation connected the technical approach with industrial requirements.

Continued Research and Application Development

Eforthink will continue developing its positioning systems around customer requirements for personnel tracking, equipment visibility and operational integration. The exhibition presented RTLS technology as a source of location information for industrial safety and workflow management, with performance assessed for each deployment.
