APPLICATION OVERVIEW

Powered by the Eforthink Downlink UWB RTLS System, this solution provides high-precision indoor positioning and navigation for airports, railway stations, and other transportation hubs. By combining synchronized UWB Anchors, UWB-enabled smartphones, and a smart navigation application, passengers can quickly locate boarding gates, ticket gates, transfer corridors, commercial areas, and service facilities while receiving accurate real-time navigation guidance.

Unlike traditional positioning systems, Eforthink's Downlink UWB architecture enables smartphones to calculate their own location by passively receiving synchronized UWB signals from multiple Anchors. This delivers centimeter-level accuracy, ultra-low latency, massive user concurrency, enhanced privacy protection, and reliable performance in high-density passenger environments.
The solution helps improve passenger travel and transfer efficiency while providing operators with location insights to optimize passenger flow, resource allocation, commercial operations, and safety management.

UWB
Only 10 minutes left to reach the gate/checkpoint
  • Shows only approximate location. Cannot distinguish gates, checkpoints, or escalators, requiring users to stop and confirm directions.
  • Provides positioning near intersections or checkpoints, but accuracy fluctuations may affect navigation confidence.
  • ✓ Precisely identifies gates, checkpoints, escalators, and entrances for fast and confident navigation.
Multi-floor transfer navigation
  • Easily affected by floor changes and direction confusion, causing repeated route adjustments.
  • Supports floor and direction recognition, but complex structures may still affect accuracy.
  • ✓ Accurately recognizes floors, corridors, and transfer points with real-time route guidance.
High passenger density during peak hours
  • Signal interference and crowd obstruction reduce accuracy, requiring repeated map confirmation.
  • Performance may vary with user density and environmental conditions.
  • ✓ Maintains stable positioning in crowded environments for smoother passenger navigation.

Finding stores, restrooms, or service areas
  • Only shows nearby areas. Users still need signs or staff assistance to find specific destinations.
  • Narrows the location range but may require further confirmation in complex areas.
  • ✓ Directly guides users to specific stores, restrooms, and service entrances.
Assistance for elderly passengers, children, or mobility-impaired travelers
  • Shows only general areas, making timely assistance difficult.
  • Reduces search range but still requires manual judgment in complex environments.
  • ✓ Precisely identifies locations and destinations to improve assistance efficiency.
Sudden crowding / emergency evacuation
  • Shows crowd density only, making route identification difficult.
  • Provides partial crowd analysis, but large-area consistency may be limited.
  • ✓ Provides real-time passenger distribution and movement status for effective crowd guidance.

CORE FEATURES

Indoor Real-Time Positioning 2

• Provide passengers with real-time location, direction, and floor-level information throughout airports and railway stations.
• Powered by UWB high-precision downlink positioning technology, the system delivers centimeter-level positioning accuracy, creating a reliable foundation for navigation, transfer guidance, and location-based services in complex indoor environments.

Location Search & Transfer Route Planning 1

• Help passengers quickly find check-in counters, ticket gates, boarding gates, transfer corridors, restrooms, and service points.
• Based on UWB positioning, digital maps, floor layouts, and real-time traffic conditions, the system automatically generates optimal routes to improve travel efficiency and passenger experience.

Real-Time Location Sharing & Special Passenger Services 3

• Enable travelers to share their real-time location with family members or companions for easier coordination and meeting.
• The system also supports accessible route planning, low-congestion route recommendations, and assistance services for special-needs passengers, delivering a safer and more convenient travel experience.

Digital Asset Management

• Integrate passenger location, movement paths, dwell time, and peak traffic data into a unified digital platform.
• The system transforms operational data into valuable digital assets that can be analyzed, exported, and utilized to support operational decision-making and commercial value creation.

Operational Analytics

• Automatically generate reports on passenger traffic trends, dwell-time analysis, popular areas, and movement patterns.
• Visualized analytics provide operators with actionable insights for operational optimization, resource allocation, and business decision-making.

Workforce Dispatch & Service Coordination

• Monitor the real-time location and status of security personnel, customer service staff, and passenger guidance personnel.
• Combined with passenger density, service requests, and event alerts, the system intelligently dispatches the nearest available personnel to improve response times, enhance special passenger services, and strengthen cross-department coordination.

Passenger Heatmaps & Dwell-Time Analysis

• Collect real-time data on passenger density, dwell time, and movement trends throughout transportation hubs.
• Dynamic heatmaps and behavioral analytics help operators identify high-traffic areas, optimize commercial layouts, improve navigation services, and build long-term operational data assets.

Emergency Evacuation & Safety Guidance 4

• Monitor passenger density, congestion conditions, and corridor status in real time.
• During emergencies such as fires, equipment failures, or unexpected incidents, the system dynamically generates optimal evacuation routes and distributes guidance through mobile applications, digital displays, and public announcement systems to support fast, safe, and orderly evacuation.
